my son loves to fish and is no smarter than I was

All is well in Tallahassee, FL with my wife of 28 years (Pat) and 2 sons (Drew, 21 and Sandy, 18). Nice house at the lake, one at the beach and one in town – where did I go wrong? I talk periodically with Slugg, Hellmann, Russ Hatton, Friel, Filipos and others. Nice to see the cozy pic of Corky by the fireplace in the newly renovated house … especially without a brew and/or a blunt jauntily in his mouth. Anyone that sees this and recognizes my name at all, drop me a note.

I would love to hear from any late 60s-early 70s Psi Skulls, including Woody, Dumpy, Mole, Swine Grant or anyone from that outstanding pledge class of spring 1970.

I am married, with two children, Jacob (6) and Rachel (3). We live in Bryn Mawr, PA. I am an attorney in private practice in Philadelphia. I remain in close contact with Dave Budney, Don McNees, Alan Renkin and, from time to time Dennis Elisco. Joe Gill (’78) and I get our hair cut (for me, what is left of it) at the same place, though I have not seen him in awhile. I am looking forward to the October get together in Philadelphia.

I recently joined Hartford Medical Group as the Practice Administrator of several of Hartford Hospital’s primary care and urgent care centers. Hartford Healthcare Corp is the largest health care provider in Connecticut and I am very pleased with my new position. (I think this is my 50th job since graduating!! – gone are the days of one job, one company for life). Lisa and I have three busy daughters – soccer, swimming, dance, piano (all the good looks, athletic and musical ability comes from their mother). Jim Gaspari came to visit a few months ago – I finally got to see his photos from his two years in Papua New Guinea. I’ll try to make it to the February get together in Philly – lot’s of fun seeing familiar faces with a little gray hair.

To celebrate selling my business after twenty long years, I decided to take the next two years out of my life doing volunteer work at a Catholic vocational trade school located in the village of Fissoa on the fairly remote island of New Ireland. New Ireland is an island province of Paupa New Guinea and the village was situated about two degrees south of the equator. What a tremendous experience it was! Mechanics and carpentry instruction, financial administration, school projects coordinator, … these were only a few of my responsibilities. The students were good kids and the teaching went well once I learned the language. The tribal peoples with their diverse cultures and languages (over 715 indigenous dialects spoken throughout PNG), the beautiful coral reefs, and the varieties of tropical wildlife were incredible testaments to the magnificance of this unfamiliar South Pacific island. Now that I am back home in Penn., I am looking forward to sharing a very cold beer wtih the guys again, Mark Bugos ’78, Joe Gill ’77, Jeff Long ’80, etc., as I reminisce about the very hot days in PNG.

2004 has been a year of change for us all positive. I joined Merrill Lynch Private Banking and Investment group as a Private Wealth Advisor. Meribeth was promoted to a District Sales Manager for Wyeth Pharmaceuticals for eastern Pa., N.J. and Delaware. My son, Michael, who graduate from the Univ. of Vermont, left Hartford and joined Wyeth as an inside Sales Representative. My daughter, Jessica, after graduating from Thomas Jefferson University, joined the Bryn Mawr Hospital nursing staff. She wisely invested her signing bonus into a house at age 24. My youngest daughter, Caitlin, graduated from high school and will be off to the University of South Florida this fall.
